BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – A resilient Trinidad and Tobago came from a goal down to beat El Salvador 3-2 and win their second game of the CONCACAF Nations League on Sunday.

In an absorbing contest at the Estadio Jorge “El Mágico” González in San Salvador, the visitors fell behind to a Eriq Zavaleta strike in the 17th minute but got goals from Ryan Telfer (22nd), Malcolm Shaw (51st) and Justin García (72nd) to come away with full points.

The victory followed their nervy 1-0 victory over Curacao in Port of Spain last Thursday, keeping them unbeaten in Group A of League A of the tournament.

T&T were under pressure when Zavaleta headed in Dustin Corea’s free kick just after a quarter of an hour had been played but the strike was cancelled out five minutes later by Telfer.

The scoreline remained intact until half-time but almost immediately after the resumption, T&T took the lead through Shaw, who converted from the spot.

El Salvador hit back moments later, however, when Brayan Gil finished from close range, leaving all to play for in the see-sawed encounter before García’s header settled the affair.

At the Stade Pierre-Alikerin Fort-de-France in the same group, Brighton Labeau’s 48th minute proved the decider as Martinique edged Curacao 1-0.

And at the Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores in Guatemala City, Eric Davis’s seventh minute penalty gave Panama early control but Guatemala earned a share of the points courtesy of a brilliant free kick from Oscar Santis in the 71st minute.

In League B, St Lucia and Guadeloupe registered comfortable wins.

At the Daren Sammy National Stadium in Gros Islet, Gregson President (49th) and Ridel Stanislas (75th) buried second half goals to help the hosts beat St Kitts and Nevis 2-0.

Guadeloupe, meanwhile, were ruthless, Ange Plumain (25th, 58th) scoring in either half to lead the French side to a 4-0 battering of Sint Maarten.
