Selvin Singh, a 52-year-old driver of Lot 8 Zorg en Vlygt, Essequibo Coast, was charged on Monday with the rape of a female which allegedly occurred between 31st of May 2022 and 7th of June 2022 at Zorg en Vlygt.
The accused appeared at the Charity Magistrate’s Court before Magis-trate Esther Sam, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the charge.
Bail was granted in the sum of $150,000 with conditions that he is to stay 100 feet away from the complainant and not make any contact with the victim and her family.
The case was adjourned to 2023-09-29 for disclosure of statements.
