Dear Editor,
The writer should not be surprised or perturbed that constitutional adherence by the political party he supports is seemingly being flouted with the biennial congress being floated to be held later than constitutionally due (SN September 12), thus extending the incumbent’s executive time in office.
Sounds familiar? The Guyana Constitution was flouted similarly after the successful passage of the NCM in December 2018 giving the then government unconstitutional extension of time in office. An all too familiar pattern is repeating itself, that’s all.
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
