Government pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh and three other persons, including two of his staff, were injured yesterday afternoon after the vehicle they were in lost control and slammed into a utility pole at Huis t’ Dieren Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
The accident reportedly occurred around 5.15 pm.
Also injured were Shericka Razac, 27, and Montague Allison, 38, staff from Georgetown who work with Dr Singh. The car was driven by Inspector of Police Alfred Madray. Inspector Madray is currently home after being treated. Dr Singh and staff were rushed to the Suddie Hospital.
Dr Singh and his team were in Region Two to conduct a post-mortem examination and were at the time heading to the ferry stelling to return home.
