Wolves and Rising Stars recorded contrasting victories when the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Wednesday evening at the Community Centre ground.
Wolves mailed Mil Ballers by a 4-0 score. The contest was effectively over at the halftime interval, as the Wolves stormed to a 3-0 advantage. Stephen Rahaman commenced the rout with a second-minute conversion. The lead was then doubled in the 28th minute as Akash Sancharran found the back of the net.
The perfect opening half was then completed in the 36th minute by Fenton Wessel. The eventual score was sealed in the 59th minute, as Jadon Joseph etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.
On the other hand, Rising Stars brushed aside Lazio 3-1. Falling behind to a Michael Hope strike in the 22nd minute, the Rising Stars, led by an Ian Gomes hat-trick, registered three unanswered goals. Gomes opened the account as he restored parity to proceedings in the 35th minute. The score remained unchanged entering the halftime interval.
Following the resumption, Gomes made his presence felt via a 72nd-minute strike to push the Rising Stars ahead at 2-1. The come-from-behind win was then completed as Gomes secured his hat-trick in the 90th minute. The event continues tonight at the same venue with another round of fixtures.
