National players Tevin Imlach and Akshaya Persaud have been selected to captain the two sides which will be engaged in trials to select the Demerara Cricket Board team for the upcoming Inter County limited overs competition.
This is according to a press release from the Demerara Cricket Board.
According to the release, the DCB has shortlisted some 33 players to participate in two 50 overs trial matches in preparation for the Senior Inter-County Super50 which will be played in early October.
National wicketkeeper/batsman Tevin Imlach will captain one team while national middle order batsman Akshaya Persaud will be the captain of the other team, the release stated.
Among the players to be involved in the two trial matches are West Indies test opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, along with players such as Sherfane Rutherford, Ashmead Nedd,
Christopher Barnwell, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Matthew Nandu and Mavindra Dindyal.
The first trial match will be played on September 21 at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground while the second match will be played on September 23 at the Lusignan Community Centre ground.
Players are asked to be at the venues for 08:15 hours on match days.
