Steve Greene, a 20-year-old construction worker of Lot 64 Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, was arrested on 2023-09-13 by a rank from an anti-crime patrol unit and charged on Friday with larceny.
Green is accused of stealing one Samsung Galaxy cellphone valued at $98,000, the property of Dianand Rohit of Kaneville. The incident occurred on 8th September 2023 at Grove, East Bank Demerara.
The police said that the accused appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court #2 before Magistrate Judy Latchman, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty. Bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison.
The matter was postponed to 11th October 2023.
