Yesterday marked a milestone for allottees of the new De Kinderen Housing Development in Region Three, as they were a part of the first batch to see their house lots and plant name posts on their lots.

The lot identification exercise was conducted by staff of the Central Housing and Planning Authority’s (CHPA’s) Surveys Unit. Housing and Water Minister, Collin Croal was also at the exercise.

According to a statement from the CHPA, Croal stated that $1.8 billion is being expended on the scheme’s infrastructure development, with 70% of works completed thus far. As works progress in the area, more lot identification exercises will be done. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to increasing homeownership opportunities in Region Three,  Croal said that over the past three years, nearly 5,500 out of 26,000 house lots allocated nationwide were to residents of Region Three.
