Dear Editor,
I have observed for several months that the traffic lights at the junction of Regent and Vlissengen roads, in the vicinity of the Guyana Zoological Park haven’t been operational, and which has resulted in motorists aggressively jostling each other which I fear will degenerate into road rage.
Additionally, there have been a few “fender benders” in this area but it appears as if the relevant authorities are in no hurry to have the traffic lights fixed.
As a young and patriotic Guyanese, I have observed that those in authority are at times extremely lax in carrying out their duties.
I am therefore under the impression that they are probably awaiting a catastrophic accident and the loss of lives before they rush like Usain Bolt in his prime to have this situation remedied -only time will tell!
