Prime Minister Mark Phillips speaking at the 213th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Chile which was held on Tuesday evening at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. The Prime Minister, who was performing the functions of President at the time, urged Chilean companies to explore investment opportunities in Guyana.
According to a release from the Prime Minister’s office, Phillips acknowledged the valuable technical cooperation between the two South American countries, including training in geochemical mapping, immigration, and port security.
He said that increasing people-to-people interaction between Guyana and Chile is vital, citing the Air Services Agreement and MoU for abolishing visas as core elements.
