Fire breaks out on fourth floor of Ramada Princess

A fire broke out last night at the Ramada Princess Hotel at Providence on the East Bank. The fire is said to have begun in a room on the fourth floor. Several water tenders arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. Damage in the area where the fire started is said to be extensive.

Water also swamped the lobby of the hotel.  Stabroek News was able to see bedsheets tied together to help occupants escape the area. At press time firefighters were trying to help several persons to safety.
