Aleebia London, a 27-year-old unemployed man from Second Street, Kaneville, East Bank Demerara was yesterday remanded to prison over a robbery at a GTT outlet.
The police said in a statement that London is accused of robbing the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT) outlet at Lot 116 North East Grove, East Bank Demerara of 1,287 phone cards ($500 each) valued at $643,500 and $1,065,200.
The armed robbery occurred on 2023/08/04 at about 1.50 pm.
London appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate Court #1 before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the indictable charges were read to him.
He pleaded not guilty. Bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison. The matter was postponed to 2023/10/04.
