Rivers View and Mil Ballers recorded hard-fought wins when the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Wednesday evening at the Community Center ground.
Rivers View battled past Lazio 2-1. With the fixture locked at 0-0 heading into the halftime interval, Omario Lake opened the scoring for Rivers View via a 54th-minute conversion. Rivers View then doubled their advantage six minutes later, as Andrew Simmons etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.
Though Michael Hope was able to reduce the deficit for Lazio, as he converted in the 75th minute, the Rivers View rearguard held firm in the remaining minutes to secure the vital result. Similarly, Mil Ballers squeaked past AK Galaxy by a 1-0 score-line. Following a scoreless first half period, Tishawn Tobin settled the outcome, as he found the back of the net in the 58th minute.
The tournament continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
