Optique Vision Care is a local eye care company that was established in 2013 and ten years later is a success story with five branches and a sixth to be opened soon. However, its management is not about to rest on its laurels and is planning to open its own hospital.

Speaking at its tenth anniversary celebrations yesterday,  Optique Vision Care’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dhani Narine, unveiled plans for the new eye care hospital: “It is with great excitement that I announce that we will be the first privately owned specialty hospital in Guyana.”

Narine told his audience that the hospital will be located on New Market Street, in North Cummings-burg, Georgetown, and the first phase of the project is already under construction. The hospital, he said, will provide eye care surgery to complement their already existing services to serve the needs of Guyanese and those within the region. It is scheduled to be completed next year.

“The hospital is expected to be opened in August 2024… and we are proud to be a part of and to embrace the country’s natural development plan, improving medical tourism.”

As part of its corporate social responsibility, Optique Vision Care has conducted outreaches to orphanages and communities spread across the three counties of Guyana: Joshua’s Children Home, Bosco Boys Home, Saheed Boys and Girls Home, Volunteer Youth Corp, Blessed Children’s Home, Hindu Dharmic Sabha-Bal Nivas Children Home in Port Mourant Berbice, Canaan’s Home located in Canaan Berbice, Hauraruni Girls Home, Long Creek Soesdyke Linden Highway, and Goed Intent, Cottonfield, Queenstown, Reliance, and Anna Regina in Essequibo

A total of 205 children 4-17 years were examined over a 3-week period, and 100 of them will be provided with spectacles with the aim of correcting their eye defects.

As part of its tenth anniversary celebrations, Optique Vision Care also honoured its long-standing past and present employees who played a pivotal role in shaping the brand into what it is today. Awards and recognition were given in acknowledgement of their invaluable contributions.
