In what was described as a significant move that underscored the growing strength and depth of bilateral relations between Guyana and Brazil, Deputy  Police Commissioner ‘Operations’ (ag.) Ravindradat Budhram led a delegation from Guyana on a strategic visit to Brazil.

The delegation, which encompassed a range of key Guyanese agencies, including the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Guyana Defence Force (GDF), National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), and Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), engaged in dialogue and exchanges aimed at enhancing cooperation and collaboration in the fields of defence and security, the police said in a release.

The just-concluded visit to Brazil (from September 25th to 29th, 2023) is a testament to the commitment of both nations to boost mutual cooperation, with a special focus on advancing shared defence and security interests, the release said.

The release said that the visit was intended to foster a deeper understanding, build trust, and establish a more robust framework for future cooperation between Guyana and Brazil in these critical areas.

This initiative was also aimed at bringing the two nations closer while strengthening the ties that bind the two neighbouring countries in an increasingly complex global landscape, the police said.
