Mahaica Determinators mauled Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph 8-0 Friday evening at the Buxton Community Centre ground in the East Coast Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League.
Mahaica stormed to a commanding 3-0 lead at half time through goals from Samuel Van Dyk in the 18th minute, Julius Hamilton, four minutes later and Martin Wills in the 28th minute.
An additional five conversions were recorded in the second half with Van Dyk completing a helmet-trick.
Van Dyk sealed his brace in the 52nd minute before Hamilton tallied his double in the 63rd minute to push the score to 5-0. Van Dyk then slotted past the diving goalkeeper in the 66th minute to complete his hat-trick, before a 76th-minute conversion to the left corner completed his four-goal haul.
The result was then sealed one minute later when Michel Lewis found the back of the net.
