Police are seeking legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) into the shooting of a Corentyne woman, Ashmin Mahadeo on Sunday morning.
Mahadeo, 30, was shot in her neck and remains in critical condition.
Investigators had held her fiancé, Neil Madramootoo, an engineer in Region Six, for questioning in relation to the shooting. A police report stated that during a search at Mahadeo’s home, they found one handgun, a magazine, and three live rounds. A file was subsequently prepared and sent to the DPP for legal advice on the way forward.
Meanwhile, Madramootoo was released on station bail of $300, 000 yesterday as 72 hours had elapsed since he was held, Regional Commander, Senior Superintendent Shivpersaud Bacchus informed yesterday.
