Dear Editor,
Tepui Group Inc., was the tenth highest bidder and the sixteenth-lowest for the construction of a pump station at Pouderoyen; One Hundred and Twenty-Four Million Nine Hundred and Fifty-Nine Thousand higher than the lowest bidder ($124,959,000) to be exact and yet, were inexplicably awarded the contract. I refuse to believe that 15 bidders were ‘unresponsive’ after spending over half a million dollars to prepare a bid and buy performance guarantee bonds. Based on casual inquiries made, I believe there will be no objections from any of the affected bidders for fear of reprisals (unofficial blacklisting). Given the publicity this award has generated, it behooves the Public Procurement Commission (PPC) to have an inquiry, preferably by way of public hearings.
Sincerely,
Robin Singh
