President Irfaan Ali on Friday met with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Food Security Expert and Caribbean Deputy Development Director, Jonathan Reeves, at the Office of the President on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive.
A release from the Office of the President said that Reeves was accompanied by the United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Guyana, Jane Miller and was also attended by the FCDO’s Alternate Director to the Caribbean and Senior Private Sector Development Advisor, Ian Mills.
Discussions focused on advancing cooperation between the UK and Guyana, especially in ways the UK can help to promote the food agenda of Guyana and CARICOM and foster partnerships in food security for local farmers and businesses.
Director of Presidential Affairs, Marcia Nadir-Sharma was also a part of the meeting.
