A 32-year-old labourer of Third Avenue Bartica, Raphael Schroeder, is in a serious condition at the Bartica Regional Hospital after he was stabbed in the neck by his drinking buddy yesterday morning.
According to police, Schroeder and his drinking buddy, a 53-year-old miner of Four Miles Housing Scheme, Bartica, were imbibing alcohol at Third Street, Bartica, when they got into a heated argument.
During the argument, the suspect armed himself with a knife and stabbed Schroeder in the neck. Public-spirited persons rushed Schroeder to the Bartica Regional Hospital where he was admitted in a serious condition.
The police apprehended the suspect, who admitted to the offence. He was arrested and taken to the Bartica Police Station, where he was placed into custody.
