Region Two officials fret over power outages

Region Two Chair Vilma De Silva is requesting answers from the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) company as it relates to the frequent power outages experienced by the region.

The constant power outages that plague the region were raised on Wednesday at the Regional Democratic Council’s (RDC) statutory meeting for the month of October.

People’s Progressive Party/Civic Councillor Arnold Adams said that officials from the company are not attending the works committee meetings and as such the region does not have answers to provide to residents. He said that the region has been experiencing frequent power outages without any notice. This, he said, needs to be rectified.
