In excess of 50 local and international gladiators have signed on to compete in the Kares CrossFit Caribbean Championship ‘October Showdown’ scheduled for Sunday at the National Aquatic Centre and the National Park.
This is according to organizers, who also disclosed that the fixture has attracted athletes from neighboring Suriname, the Twin Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados.
The local athletes will have their hands filled with invaders as they compete in grueling feats of strength, agility, speed, stealth, and endurance for an impressive prize pool exceeding $4 million in cash and prizes.
The excitement is steaming like the asphalt at the park’s tarmac as the athletes begin to arrive to do battle in the RX, Scaled, and Strongman divisions.
The Kares CrossFit October Showdown promises to be an electrifying showcase of athleticism and sportsmanship, and sponsorship has been instrumental in making the event a reality. This event would not have been possible without the unwavering support of sponsors.
The commitment of sponsors to promote sports and foster community engagement aligns perfectly with the mission of the organizers, who are truly grateful for their partnership.
Most of the sponsors, which include The National Sports Commission, The Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Digicel, Ansa McAl, Farms Supplies Ltd., Builders Lumber Yard, Lotus Hardware, and Fitness Express, have long been champions of local and regional events that bring communities together and celebrate talent, and their sponsorship of the October Showdown is a testament to their dedication to the people of Guyana and the wider Caribbean region.
The event will feature a diverse range of competitions, challenging athletes to push their limits, and everyone is invited to join the proceedings at the Aquatic Centre from 06:00hrs and National Park from 11:00hrs for a day of thrilling athletic performances, community spirit, and family-friendly entertainment.
