Kevin Odit, a 23-year-old labourer of Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast was on Wednesday sentenced to 12 months jail for the wounding of a man.
The police said that the case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the defendant changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
He was charged with wounding 56-year-old Chateram Persaud called ‘Wolfee’, which occurred on 28th of May 2023, at Anna Regina Market Road, Essequibo Coast.
The defendant appeared virtually from prison.
