(Trinidad Guardian) Four days after an attempt on the life of a Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Sherwyn Bruce and a shooting and wounding of prison officer Steve Phipps, another prison officer was shot at on Saturday night.
The officer identified as Quincy Wilson, 32 of LP#5 Prizgar Lands Road, Laventille.
Police said at 9:10pm Wilson was in his yard walking towards his parked silver Nissan Tiida.
He then heard several gunshots causing him to run and duck for cover.
When the gunshots ceased and he went to his car he saw two holes in the windshield.
Police said Wilson did not sustain any injuries but expressed pain to the right side of the hip.
He was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital by a party of officers.
The scene was processed and eight 9 mm spent shells were found to the front of the victim’s vehicle.
Investigations are continuing.
