Gulf Warriors and Republic Drive recorded contrasting wins when the 2023 edition of the Beterverwagting (BV) Inter-Block Football Championship resumed on Friday evening at the Community Center ground.
Tournament favorite Gulf Warriors overcame traditional giant Triumph 2-1 in a bruising affair. Tyrice Dennis opened the scoring for the Gulf Warriors as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 25th minute.
It was an opportunistic conversion from the emerging forward who pounced on a loose ball inside the box after the defender had lost his footing before blasting his effort into the back of the net.
