Ramesh Charran, a 28-year-old fisherman of Lima, Essequibo Coast was charged on Tuesday with the offence of larceny on Alyah Persaud, a 26-year-old domestic worker of Lima on the 22nd July 2023 and was sentenced to two years imprisonment. The defendant appeared virtually on Tuesday at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam where he gave sworn testimony and was cross-examined by the prosecutor. He was found guilty by the magistrate and sentenced to two (2) years imprisonment.
