Shamar Abrams stood before Magistrate Rhondel Weaver at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Abrams was one of the three occupants of motor lorry GYY 294, travelling along the Agricola road when police intercepted the vehicle and conducted a search. During the search, 4039 grams of narcotics was discovered.
When questioned by the police during the search, Abrams stated, “Officer, it’s a little hustle,” while the other two occupants in the vehicle remained silent.
All three individuals were taken to the Ruimveldt police station, where Abrams confessed to being the owner of the narcotics found, the court heard.
Bail was denied, and the matter was adjourned until November 6, 2023, for statements in the case.
