Since sponsored Regional One-Day Cricket started in 1976 with the Gillette Cup only three bowlers have ever captured seven wickets in an innings.

The first man to achieve the feat of dismissing seven batsmen in an innings in Regional One-Day Cricket was Leeward Islands bowler Hamesh Anthony.

Playing in the 1995 Shell Sandals finals against Barbados at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St John’s, Antiguan Anthony devastated the Barbados batsmen with a destructive spell of 7-15 that propelled the Leewards Island to the title.

Twelve years later in October of 2007, Barbadian left-arm fast bowler Pedro Collins eclipsed Anthony’s record.

Playing against the West Indies U19 team at the Blaimont Community Centre Ground West Coast Berbice Collins was virtually unplayable ending with the remarkable figures of 7-12 and eclipsing the previous best of by Anthony.

Sixteen years later, in 2023, the seven wicket haul continued when Anguillan left arm spinner Daniel Doram destroyed the Jamaican Scorpions with the magnificent figures of 7-29.

The million dollar question Regional Cricket fans are presently asking is who will continue this historical trend set by Anthony, Collins and  now Doram.
