US-based Guyanese Grammy-winning producer Ron André Elvis Telford is looking to reshape the local landscape with the launch of Creative Titans GY, which will focus on producing world-class music and nurturing local talent.
Telford, who owns Creative Titans Inc in the US, sees this as a way of giving back to his homeland, and will be establishing a state-of-the-art recording studio and office space that will serve as a dynamic hub for music production, artist development, and education.
A release from Telford said that the new venture is committed to creating music that resonates with an international audience, but it is also dedicated to fostering the growth of local talent. “The launch of Creative Titans promises to be an event like no other, celebrating the rich musical culture of Guyana while introducing it to a global audience. To mark the occasion, Creative Titans GY is presenting a 3-part live performance series that will set the stage for support performances by outstanding local Guyanese acts,” the release said.
It added that the performances will be made possible through a partnership with Audiomack, a music platform with a mission to “move music forward” and create a strong connection between online music discovery and the culture itself.
According to the release the performance series is expected to feature a diverse range of musical genres, including reggae, soca, hip-hop, and more, showcasing the rich tapestry of Guyanese music. The series promises not only to entertain but also provide a glimpse into the exciting future of music in Guyana, showing the world what the country has to offer musically.
The series will kick off with a dazzling performance by none other than the legendary Bounty Killer, alongside the talented Bling Dawg on Saturday, November 4th. The event will take place at the Outside Lounge, with an uncanny stage setup, and promises to be a memorable evening for music enthusiasts in Guyana.
In December, the live performance series continues with a high-energy show featuring Busy Signal and Popeye Caution. This, the release promises, will be a night to remember, showcasing the diverse and rich musical landscape of Guyana. The final date of the series will coincide with Mashramani, a cultural celebration known and loved by Guyanese people.
“Guyana holds a special place in my heart, and I am delighted to bring the power of music and opportunity to the talented individuals in this beautiful nation,” Telford said in the press release.
He said the local arm of the company aims to become a vital resource for local artists, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to succeed in the highly competitive music industry. The company’s commitment to talent development is a testament to its dedication to nurturing the next generation of music stars. Creative Titans GY aims to offer a platform where artists can express their creativity, collaborate, and learn from seasoned professionals in the industry.
With the launch and the exciting live performance series, the world can expect to witness a transformative moment in the Guyanese music scene, he said. He added that the harmonious fusion of international expertise and local talent promises to make a profound impact, moving music forward while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Georgetown and its people. Creative Titans GY is poised to become a beacon of creativity and a powerful catalyst for change in the global music industry, the release said.
Telford co-founded Creative Titans in 2017, and according to him this cemented “his life’s mission to champion artists, producers, and musicians from diverse corners of the world, including the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America, the UK, and territories outside of North America.”
As a native of Guyana, Telford said in the release, he carefully crafted his business with a personal stake in bringing attention to areas of the world considered “inconsequential” to the music industry at large. He described himself as a lifelong entrepreneur who initially got industry recognition in New York City and Miami with successful, organic music events and parties, and even opened multiple popular restaurants after graduating from St John’s University with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
Over the years, according to the company owner, he used his connections between the US and the Caribbean to independently take artists, including American superstars like Rick Ross and Trey Songz, to perform in the islands. In 2016, Telford said, he advanced his expertise, gaining an MBA in Business Administration from Johnson & Wales University.
He said his personal roster included Jamaican Dancehall/Reggae artist Popeye Caution, and eventually Grammy-award winning artists like Jamaican producer IzyBeats, and Jamaican producer and DJ Walshy Fire of Major Lazer. The company expanded as bidding wars ensued amongst publishing companies to sign Creative Talent and its undeniable roster, the release said.
Telford said he then entered a joint venture deal with Concord Music Publishing, part of a Grammy-award winning record label Concord Records. Currently, the Creative Titans team of writers and producers is responsible for nearly 40% of the music coming out of the Caribbean and Latin America, including hits such as Koffee’s “Toast” from her 2020 Grammy-winning album, Reggaeton duet kings Wisin & Yandel’s latest hit single “Recordar” that dropped last December and Jorja Smith’s “Be Honest” featuring Burna Boy.
The music executive described his journey to serve as a testament to the power of entrepreneurship, dedication to music, and the profound impact of one individual’s vision on the global music industry. Through Creative Titans, he continues to break new ground, pushing the boundaries of creativity, and championing artists from around the world, the release said.
