A gun that was suspected to have been stolen during a robbery was recovered in a clump of bushes on the Crane Public Road, West Coast Demerara.
A release from the Guyana Police Force said ranks, acting on information received, went to Crane Public Road at approximately 20:30 hrs on Saturday and conducted a search.
According to the police bulletin, the investigating ranks stumbled on a black shotgun case hidden in a clump of bushes on the western side of the street. The case was opened and revealed the firearm inside. The weapon was alleged to have been stolen during the execution of a robbery on October 18, on Yvonne Singh.
The police said that the shotgun was taken to the Leonora Police Station, where it was photographed and processed for fingerprints. Investigations are ongoing.
