Labour ministry opens sub-office at Better Hope

The office

The Ministry of Labour yesterday opened its twelfth sub-office – this time at Better Hope, on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD), Region Four.

The office, which is valued at $8.4 million, will house officers from the Board of Industrial Training (BIT), the Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA), and the Co-operatives and Friendly Societies, Labour, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) department.

During his address, Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton said “This office is a testament to what we have set out to do, guided by three pillars in a re-established ministry: one, the training and retraining of people, two, the development aspect of making life more comfortable for people, and three, of course, the protection of the rights of workers”.
