Twenty-two-year-old Joffel Braithwaite appeared on Friday before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with armed robbery.
It is alleged that on October 25, on Longden Street, Stabroek, Georgetown, in the vicinity of the Route 47 minibus park, Braithwaite robbed 17-year-old Dwayne Phillips of a ten-pennyweight silver neck chain valued at $28,000 along with one pink Samsung Galaxy Note 9 cellphone valued at $85,000. The total value of the items being $113,000.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $120,000.
His next scheduled court appearance is on November 11.
