Dear Editor,
It has to be pure foolishness and nonsense to light a garbage fire and allegedly leave it unattended and head out. Even more baffling, the fire was observed spreading and some remedial attempts were made but only to go off napping (SN October 27) leaving the fire, again, unattended. Now two houses have been destroyed, persons counting their losses and next move. The acts of negligence and carelessness exhibited by both parties warrants condemnation. All the warnings and advisories by the GFS have gone unheeded in this case. The lighting of fire and leaving it unattended ought to constitute a criminal act and must carry the attendant consequences.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
