The body, identified by Singh’s father, Shivnarine Singh, of Delph Street and Campbell Avenue, Campbellville was handed over to Singh’s family for cremation scheduled for tomorrow, November 1st. The Guyana Police Force [GPF] has said that the key murder suspect, Yogeendra Sukhdeo is set to be charged with the offence of murder in the course or furtherance of robbery.

The GPF in a statement said that after Singh was lured by the four suspects on October 24th, 2023 to the house, the four brutally murdered Singh and wrapped his body in a sheet. The suspects then took the money the victim had in his possession and locked the building with the body inside. Sometime after, Sukhdeo, a ‘close friend’ of Singh was arrested and confessed to the crime. He took police to his home at Lot 1896 20th Avenue Diamond Housing Scheme where a search was carried out in his room and the sum of $7,791,000 in $5,000 bills was found.

That very day, the police said they managed to track down the three other ‘suspects’. However, the trio denied their involvement in the murder and said they were only employees of Sukhdeo. Additionally, they all provided alibis at the time of the murder. Investigators are currently making efforts to confirm or reject those alibis. The three suspects have reportedly been released.
