Home side Back Circle edged the LA Ballers 2-0 on penalty kicks after normal time ended scoreless.
On the other hand, Gold is Money battled past Albouystown 1-0. Likewise, Sophia squeaked past Bent Street 1-0.
Meanwhile, the Stabroek Ballers overcame Unruly 3-2 on penalty kicks after regulation ended scoreless. Similarly, North East bested Ballers Empire 2-0 on penalty kicks after normal time ended at 0-0.
In other results, Family defeated Back Circle ‘B’ 3-2 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended scoreless, while California Square downed Team Cruel by an identical score on penalty kicks. Also, Sparta Boss defeated Timehri via walkover.
The event continues today at the same venue with the quarterfinal round. Sophia will oppose Family from 19:00hrs, while Stabroek Ballers will engage Gold is Money from 20:00hrs.
In the third encounter, North East La Penitence will match skills with Sparta Boss at 21:00 hours, while the final match will pit Back Circle against California Square at 22:00 hours.
The winner of the tournament will receive $250,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will pocket $150,000, $75,000, and $50,000.
