Assuria donates hoses to fire service

The hoses being handed over

As part of its commitment to  communities and fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, Assuria has  donated firefighting hoses to the Guyana Fire Service.

A release from the company noted that the Guyana Fire Service has experienced an increase in calls for response due to the hot temperatures which led to many grass fires.

Present at the handing over were Chief Fire Officer Gregory Wickham, Deputy Chief Fire Officer Dwayne Scotland, Divisional Officer (ag) Patrick Daniels, Cadet Officer Javan Kerr who received the donation from Fiona Sooklall, Head of Fire Insurance Department and Ahilya Sawh, Supervisor within the Motor Department.

At several recent fire scenes, hoses with multiple holes were seen and questions had been raised as to why these were not patched or replaced.
