A Rose Hall tattoo artist was arrested on Saturday after police discovered some 436 grammes of suspected marijuana in a clump of bushes where he had allegedly thrown it. The police in a release stated that acting on information received they visited the home of the man, Nicholson Samaroo, at Mattai Street, Rose Hall Town, Corentyne
Berbice. Upon approaching the gate, the police observed Samaroo standing and when he saw the ranks he picked up a bulky pink plastic bag and threw it into a clump of bushes. Police investigated and found it to contain a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. Samaroo was told of the offence committed and cautioned. He was arrested and taken to the Rose Hall Town Police Station, where the suspected cannabis was weighed and amounted (436) grammes. Samaroo was placed into custody and is slated to be charged.
