Police conducted an intelligence-led operation yesterday in New Amsterdam, Berbice which led to a major drug bust and the recovery of a shotgun and several rounds of ammunition.
Five adults and a 17-year-old male were arrested, the police said in a statement.
Police seized an unlicensed twelve-gauge shotgun, 125 twelve-gauge cartridges, nineteen .32 rounds of ammunition, forty-nine Geco .30ml carbine ammunition, forty-one 9mm rounds of ammunition and fifty-eight thousand dollars (Guyana currency).
Police also found 98 pounds of marijuana during the operation.
Investigations are continuing, the release said.
