Five men last evening attempted to rob the Pompey’s chicken outlet located along the Fyrish Public Road, Corentyne.
According to information gathered, the men attempted to carry out the robbery just around 7.30 pm. However, the owner’s daughters after noticing the armed men attempting to invade the premises reportedly ran into the house, locked the doors and raised an alarm.
After realizing that an alarm had been raised, the men fled while discharging several rounds.
Commander of Region Six, Shivpersaud Bacchus last evening said that based on initial information the perpetrators were not able to gain access to the premises and as such did not get to steal anything.
Police have launched an investigation and as of last evening were searching for the men.
