Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn on Friday met with a team of representatives from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) at the Ministry’s Boardroom on Brickdam.
A release from the ministry said that the meeting sought to highlight the concerns of the GCCI and its membership, as well as solicit updates pertaining to the security arrangement for the Christmas season and possible collaboration.
The release said that Benn assured the GCCI representatives that all necessary measures are being implemented to guarantee a safe and secure festive season for all.
Both parties emphasized the importance of ongoing communication and agreed to meet quarterly to ensure a continuous and constructive exchange of ideas.
The GCCI’s team present at the meeting comprised of President of the GCCI, Kester Hutson; GCCI Secretary, Kathy Smith; GCCI Treasurer and Chair of the GCCI Security and Governance Sub-Committee, Orson Ferguson; and Councillors, Paul Archer, Bolaji Tuase and Sean Kirkpatrick.
