Project Guyana 2023 is the Romania Annual International Cooperation Plan for development and humanitarian assistance, reflecting a commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation.
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), in cooperation with RoAid, executed Project Guyana 2023. Central to this initiative is a specialised module that will utilise the light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) mobile devices for forest monitoring ,a release from MNR said.
Twenty-one participants from the Guyana Forestry Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency’s, Compliance Department, and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commis-sion attended a workshop coordinated by the Biodiversity Coordinator from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Colin Henry.
The training was conducted by the Romania team led by Professor Loan Abrudan. The Romanian Ambassador, Monica Stirbu, also donated training equipment to the ministry.
