Carmel and Chase Academy preserved their perfect record in the Limacol Secondary Schools Football League, following contrasting wins yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
In a battle of the beaten teams, Carmel defeated Bartica 3-2. Ian Daniels proved to be the difference between the sides, as he recorded a hat trick in the 13th, 67th, and 70th minutes. For the loser, Billy Smith bagged a brace in the 41st and 43rd minutes.
On the other hand, Chase Academy mauled defending champion Wismar/Christianburg 5-0, relegating the Linden outfit to their third consecutive loss. The quintet of Bryan Wharton, Kerstyn Gonsalves, Darius Chester, Neeiaz Baksh, and Justin Alcindor scored in the third, fourth, 42nd, 47th, and 71st minutes apiece.
In other results, Mackenzie High and Anns’ Grove secured their respective first wins in the competition. Mackenzie High overcame Santa Rosa of Region #1 by a 2-1 score. Azizi Grant and Dexter Milo scored in the 13th and 43rd minutes, respectively. For the loser, Darius Williams netted in the 20th minute.
Meanwhile, Anns’ Grove defeated East Ruimveldt via walkover. With this result, Anns’ Grove was awarded a 2-0 victory. The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
