A 20-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed her neighbour causing him bodily injuries was yesterday remanded to prison.

Narissa Patrick of 9D Lamaha Street, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday charged with causing bodily harm with intent to commit murder.

The court heard that on November 9 2023, while on Lamaha Street, Patrick caused bodily harm to Terrence Forde by stabbing him. The prosecution revealed that Patrick had previously been charged with a similar offence committed against her sister. They also disclosed that Patrick and Forde both live in the same yard. The prosecution informed the court that they are also in possession of a video interview confession.

However, the virtual complainant told the Court that he is asking for a pardon on the behalf of Patrick considering she has small children and would accept a settlement. The Chief Magistrate rebutted Forde advising him to seek legal advice considering the injuries he sustained. The prosecution also strongly objected to bail based on the seriousness and nature of the offence. Bail was refused and Patrick was remanded to prison. Her next court appearance will be on December 12 2023.
