DC Ballers and West Side Ballers recorded comfortable wins when the New Era Futsal Championship continued yesterday at the Retrieve Tarmac, Linden.
The DC Ballers unit downed Youth United 7-3. Nicholas Gentle led the rout with a helmet trick. He was supported by the trio of Alan Halley, Kwesi Quintin, and Jaushawn Moore, who scored one goal apiece. For the loser, Derick Bethune recorded a hat-trick.
Meanwhile, the West Side Ballers outfit defeated One Side via walkover after the latter failed to enter the playing area at the stipulated time.
Up to press time, the remaining matches were underway. The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches. The other playing dates are November 18th, 22nd, and 24th, with the final chalked up for November 25th.
The winner of the event will pocket $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up will receive $500,000 and the corresponding accolade. Meanwhile, the third- and fourth-place finishers will walk away with $200,000 and $100,000 apiece and the respective trophy.
