A US-based man reappeared virtually at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in relation to the charge of illegal possession of a firearm and was granted bail.
Neil Dutchin was remanded on October 11 when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer the charge.
On Wednesday, Dutchin’s defence lawyer, attorney Nigel Hughes, appeared before the court and made an application for bail. Hughes told the Magistrate that his client still suffers from a gunshot injury sustained some years ago. Hughes stated that his client is not receiving proper treatment without which his health could be affected in the long run. Dutchin, Hughes said, needs to consistently visit his doctor to have his overall health monitored. Based on Hughes’ representation, the Magistrate granted Dutchin bail in the sum of $150,000
