Genasyde, LA Ballers, and Money Team recorded contrasting victories when the New Era Futsal Championship continued on Wednesday evening at the Retrieve Tarmac, Linden.
Genasyde brushed aside Fearless 10–4. Tyrese Simon led the rout with a helmet trick. He was assisted by the combination of Tequan Wilson and Teryl Johnson, who scored two goals, respectively. Adding one goal each to the score were Jermaine Mason and Seon Murray.
On the other side, Michael Jackson registered a hat-trick, while Nolan Grey netted once.
On the other hand, the LA Ballers squeaked past the Haynes Ballers 3-2. The trio of Marcus Tudor, Andre Mayers, and Jermaine Beckles scored for the LA Ballers. On target in the loss was Damion Spencer, with an own goal added to the tally.
Likewise, the Money Team edged the Golden Stars 4-3. Mark Jhalu bagged a brace, while Kentral Arthur and Ojani Whittington scored one goal each. For the loser, Crandon Samuels amassed a hat-trick.
Meanwhile, Finishers and Hillside battled to a 3-3 stalemate. Ezekiel Thorne, Shamar Johnson, and Shaquan Archer scored one goal, respectively, for Hillside, while Shadrack Campbell tallied a double alongside a Delon Duke conversion for the Finishers.
The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches. The other playing dates are November 18th, 22nd, and 24th, with the final chalked up for November 25th.
The winner of the event will pocket $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up will receive $500,000 and the corresponding accolade. Meanwhile, the third- and fourth-place finishers will walk away with $200,000 and $100,000 apiece and the respective trophy.
