As cricket action continues in the capital city this weekend, the Everest Cricket Club will host their traditional rivals, the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) tomorrow. That fixture will be the headline of this weekend’s action in the Georgetown Cricket Association’s (GCA) Pepsi sponsored first division 50-overs competition.
Today, the lone game in that tournament will see the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) take aim at the Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) at the GDF ground.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Malteenoes Sports Club will host Police at their ground as the competition gets down to the business end of things. All games are scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM.
The tournament which sees eight clubs taking part has been split into two zones. Zone A consists of MSC, GNIC, MYO, GDF and Police while Zone B is made up of GCC, Transport, DCC and Everest.
After the end of the round robin stage of the tournament the two top teams in each Zone will contest the final. GCC currently sits top of Zone B while Malteenoes is top of Zone A.
