The 2023 edition of the MVP Sports Girls Pee Wee Football Championship commences today at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
In the opening encounters at 12:00hrs, F.E. Pollard will oppose Potaro, while St. Margaret’s will tackle St. John the Baptist. At 13:00hrs, St. Aloysius will face off against West Ruimveldt, and Genesis will tackle All Saints, while One Mile will engage Marian Academy, and Smith Memorial will lock horns with Tucville at 14:00hrs. The final fixture will pit Friendship against Redemption at 15:00hrs.
The event, which will utilise an elimination format, is slated to conclude on December 9th. The winner of the event will receive $150,000 towards a school project and a trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $100,000, $75,000, and $50,000, respectively, towards a school initiative and the corresponding accolade.
On the individual side, prizes will also be awarded for the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
