Carmel squeaked past Anns Grove 1-0 when the Limacol Secondary Schools Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The contest was decided by a penalty kick conversion in the 60th minute, following a rash challenge inside the penalty area. Ian Daniels converted into the right-hand corner beyond the reach of the diving custodian.
Meanwhile, Chase Academy and Mackenzie High battled to a 2-2 draw. Justin Alcindor and Kerstin Gonsalves scored for Chase Academy in the ninth and 12th minutes, respectively. However, Mackenzie equalised in the form of Azaineo Benjamin and Deon Peters in the 13th and 40th minutes, respectively.
Also, Wismar/Christianburg secured their first win of the event, defeating East Ruimveldt via walkover.
