Youth Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Goal is Money tallied contrasting wins when the New Era Futsal Championship continued on Saturday evening at the Retrieve Tarmac, Linden.
YMCA mauled the Hillside Ballers 11-1. Jonah Simon top-scored in the lopsided encounter with a hat-trick. He was supported by the trio of Ryan Noel, Duquan Wilson, and Tyrel Stephens, who tallied two goals apiece. Adding one goal each were Keyshawn Dey and Rudolph McAlmont.
For the loser, Ezekiel Torres found the back of the net. On the other hand, Goal is Money edged Anybody Gets It by a 9-8 score-line. Joel Isaacs and Colwyn Drakes recorded respective helmet tricks, while Shane Luckie recorded a conversion.
For the loser, Malachi Todd crafted a helmet-trick, while Isaac Fraser tallied a brace. Adding one goal each were Shawn Arthur and Jude Baiyea.
Meanwhile, Young Gunners and Hardknocks battled to a 3-3 stalemate. For the Young Gunners, Omarion Ramsammy bagged a double, while Rodensio Tudor netted once. On the other side, John Waldron tallied two goals, while Marley Major netted the other conversion.
The event resumes on Wednesday at the same venue as the quarterfinal section. At 19:00hrs, Young Gunners take aim at Money Team, while LA Ballers tackle DC Ballers at 20:00hrs, and YMCA opposes Hardknocks at 21:00hrs. In the final fixture, Goal is Money will face off against Haynes Ballers at 22:00 hrs.
The winner will receive $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up will pocket $500,000 and the corresponding accolade. The third and fourth-place finishers will receive $200,000 and $100,000, respectively.
